I’ll gently guide you through the session while focusing on the little details. Having this newborn session also gives you an excuse to hold your baby as much as you want! You’ll love to have photos to reflect the way your baby fits perfectly in your arms, and how teeny tiny her fingers and toes are. Lifestyle newborn photography is intentionally unposed and relaxed. Rather than placing your baby into unnatural baby positions, I document your family as you naturally would interact. Snuggling, soothing, feeding, and simply being together. There will be moments I’ll provide guidance or put you in the best light, but I want you to feel as comfortable as possible.
I’ll have you show me different areas in your home to best tell your story. Some spaces that typically work for in home newborn sessions include:

Lifestyle newborn sessions are completely baby-led, meaning we pause whenever your baby needs to eat, be changed, or comforted. If an older sibling needs attention or a break, that’s welcome too. I can’t think of a newborn session with a sibling that did not involve snack time!
There’s no pressure for your baby to sleep. This approach of photography allows us to capture what is happening, whether baby is awake and alert or asleep in mamas arms. Your newborn session will embraces real life, exactly as it unfolds.
