Meet Tabitha
Hey hey! Glad you found me!
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It was how my family documented us growing up when my Dad was in the military. We shared the photos when he was away, and now we have them to cherish.
As I got older I continued to appreciate the art and how it lends itself to storytelling. My Grandfather in California had six children and documented their lives pretty much from birth. When I would go to his house and look through all of the albums and thousands of images I notice how the photos capture the moment, the stories, and the emotion in ways words never could. These photographs are are a reminder of how meaningful it is to preserve real life through photography.
Before becoming a photographer, I spent several years working with infants, toddlers, and young children through Early Intervention and behavior therapy. I think that experience has given me many tools to be patient and flexible, and the understanding that every child is different.
I also became a mom in 2020 and having a daughter of my own even more reinforced and taught me when know when kids need a break or when they need space, and when they need a little encouragement. I know how to follow their lead while gently guiding the little moments. Both roles have helped me create sessions that feel meaningful and special even when things don’t go “perfectly”, because in reality they don’t need to.
“Tabitha has been photographing our family for years. I literally have the pictures she’s taken hung up all over my house because they are so gorgeous and perfectly capture my family. Tabitha is professional, nice, fun, down to earth and relatable. We absolutely adore her as a photographer and now also a friend.” -Debbie V.
Here are some fun facts:
I can eat frozen yogurt or ice cream anytime of year, even when it’s 20 degrees outside. On the flip side, I can eat chili in the middle of the summer.
I drink hot coffee first thing in the morning. I’m usually on my second cup by lunchtime/afternoon.
I am obsessed with stationery and notebooks. I have several notebooks that have been written in and I none that are 100% filled.
I could probably say yes to sushi and tacos almost every day.
Peanut butter and chocolate anything is my jam!
I have a food blog and it’s called Tabitha Talks Food! Head on over there for easy to make recipes.
I’m based in the Washington, D.C. area and specialize in lifestyle family and newborn photography. My approach is never about stiff poses or asking everyone to smile at the camera.
Instead, I focus on connection. Holding your baby close to you, tickling the little ones, and singing and dancing with your kids. I include the little details because they matter, and because they tell the full story of this season of your life.
If you’re looking for photos that feel genuine, relaxed, and true to who your family is right now, you’re in the right place. I’d love to work with you!
