This past summer I had the joy of photographing a series of personality portraits at Pink Moon in Bethesda and it reminded me exactly why I love these sessions so much!

What is a Personality Portrait?
A personality portrait is a modern take on a classic studio portrait: clean backdrop, simple lighting, and all the focus on your child’s energy, expressions and individuality. I usually recommend parents bring their child’s favorite lovey and toys to really help bring in natural expressions!
At my Bethesda pop-up at Pink Moon, I was lucky enough to know all of these kids, and they had already been in front of my camera before. They engaged with each other, laughed, jumped, and I was literally so excited to get home and upload all of their photos on my computer and look at the beautiful portraits we got!
They definitely captured this stage of childhood and I already can’t wait to do the next Personality Portraits pop-up!

Why You and Your Family Will Love These Quick Sessions
Personality Portraits are meant to serve multiple families and kids at one time. The sessions are short and sweet and they last between 5 to 10 minutes. We can typically get so many amazing photos in such a short amount of time, making these sessions perfect for busy families and curious little ones.
I aim to capture authentic expressions, not forced smiles. I take my time with each child, connect with them by prompting connection, playing games, and finding ways to bring out their true personality.
We sing, we dance, and we get a little silly. We will do whatever it takes to bring out your child’s real personality!
