Frequently Asked Questions
What is your photography style?
I define my style as candid, bright, and honest. I want you to look back these images of you and remember exactly how you felt during our session. You won't find me with a lot of props other than blankets if we are outside or maybe a chair to add novelty. Feel free to bring your child's favorite toy if you feel like it will add meaning to our session. My editing style is bright and timeless so when I am creating the finished product for you, I like to have it look the way it did at that time.
Where do the shoots take place?
I am happy to meet you at a nearby park, your house, your backyard, or any place that is meaningful to you. I am located in Midtown, Atlanta but I am available for travel within 20 miles. Please ask about some of my favorite locations! An additional fee may be added to the session if traveling farther than 20 miles. I am a natural light photographer so lighting is a defining factor of my style of photography. Keep in mind that outdoor shoots will need to take place within an hour of sunrise or sunset for the most flattering light. For in-home sessions, we will work in the rooms of your home that let in the most light, typically late morning to mid-day. I have most availability on Saturdays and Sundays but please contact me if this does not fit your schedule and I will be as flexible during the week as possible.
What can I expect during my session?
One of my goals and my lifestyle approach to photography is to capture you and your family the way you are. I believe that in order to capture this honest feeling and experience, we will have a documentary style approach during our session. My goal during our session is not to get everyone looking right at the camera and smiling saying “cheese”, however, capturing your family and your beauty in a naturalistic way. I truly believe the power of storytelling through photography and being able to print and share these images to your family as well as hanging wall art through out your home for you to enjoy. I will lightly pose and direct you, which will help to support interactions in your family. Part of what I really enjoy about being a family photographer is spending time with children and capturing them just the way they are. I have tips and tricks up my sleeve to get them to interact naturally, so no need to worry if your child is not "behaving nice" or "on their best behavior" because there are fun ways to encourage natural interaction.
What should we wear?
Wear anything that feels comfortable and natural to you. It's helpful to pick 2-3 colors and coordinate outfits around those colors, without being "matchy matchy". I would encourage you to stay away from combining too many textures or patterns, clothing with large logos/words/distracting photos, all white or all black clothing, or all white tops/khaki pants where everyone looks identical. Feel free to add pops of color. For children, fitted clothing is more flattering in photos than loose, baggy clothing. Feel free to bring an outfit change or options if you'd like! If you'd like ideas, check out my Pinterest Board. Be comfortable and wear something that represents you!
What can I expect after my session?
Within 48 hours I will post a sneak peek gallery on my photography page- please be sure to "like" and "follow" me on Facebook here. I will start editing as soon as possible and get images to you no later than two weeks.
How will I get my images?
During our session I will take many images and as soon as I get home I begin to go through them all. I delete all of the images in which are blurry, out of focus, or not a good representation of my work. Within two weeks you will receive your session gallery that is accessible through a password protected gallery link. Your gallery link can be shared with friends and family. The images are yours to use, share, and print. In order to preserve the integrity of the images and my work, please do not crop, edit, or add filters to the images. Although not mandatory, tagging Tabitha Maegan Photography on social media is always appreciated.
Do you offer prints?
Yes! Please contact me for more information.
How do I book a session?
Yay! You can book either on my contact page or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. As soon as I get your inquiry I will follow up via e-mail and schedule a phone call to discuss what kind of session you are looking for. If there are images you have seen online that inspire you, please send them my way and we can discuss how to incorporate the ideas into our session. A $100 retainer and signed contract are required to hold your session date.
